Shield Lam by Glasstech is new innovative technology right here in our Cairns manufacturing warehouse, bringing to the North & Central Queensland markets the first of it’s kind in Australia.

This new technology hails from Milan, Italy specialising in the design and manufacture of innovative, high-quality machinery for glass laminating. This custom-built, energy-efficient, and automated glass processing equipment is now available from the locally owned and operated family business at Glasstech.

The system creates clean edges during the lamination process, enhancing safety and production efficiency, with advantages focused on automation and high-quality output.

Clean Edges

The system uses a specialised, last-generation vacuum bag to prevent EVA interlayer from squeezing out during lamination, eliminating the need to trim edges after.

Time Savings

Eliminates the manual step of removing excess interlayers, reducing labor costs and supporting the building industry with advanced offerings.

Operator Safety

Reduces the need for sharp tools and blades to clean the finished glass.

Perfect Thickness

Maintains precise interlayer thickness at the edge of the glass after the process.

Producing tailored laminating, tempering furnaces designed to meet specific production needs and space limitations.

Kilns can be modified to accept, for example, a mix of RCN shelves and existing, non-RCN shelves for specialized projects.

The versatility in production is endless, this new technology is suitable for various sizes and shapes of glass.
